Ganja Millionaire: Opportunities in Hemp and Medical Marijuana Industries

Monumental predictions were being made for industrial hemp at the same time laws were restricting cannabis. Leading magazines praised hemp's potential as a crop:

"The Most Profitable and Desirable Crop That Can Be Grown" - Mechanical Engineering Feb. 1937

"New Billion Dollar Crop...can produce more than 25,000 products, ranging from dynamite to Cellophane" - Popular Mechanics Feb. 1938

USDA and Mr. Lyster Dewey

The U.S. Dept of Agriculture has conducted perhaps the most exhaustive, comprehensive research on industrial hemp than any other organization on the planet. For over 40 years, Lyster Dewey, a chief scientist and botanist at USDA, dedicated much of his professional life to the study of this plant. Mr. Dewey grew hemp for USDA study on government land called Arlington Farms.
